"The Car 200 Letters" is the story of a 1925 trip by rail across the continent, westward through Canada and back east through the United States.
In 1925, William Kinghorn Hallet, General Manager of the Bangor & Aroostook Railroad, took a trip by rail with members of his family. They crossed the entire continent twice; travelling west through Canada and returning east through the United States.
"The Car 200 Letters" is a complete record of this trip with vivid details providing a window into what things were like nearly a century ago; the people, the country, the railroads, the architecture, etc.
