“The forests around us have stories to tell to those who can read the signs. This art exhibition & book project reveals new ways of seeing & being in the interior temperate rainforests around Revelstoke. In this project, 20 Indigenous knowledge keepers & local forest experts share their insights into one place in the forest, teaching us how to ‘read’ the natural world around us & encouraging us to think about our place within it. Storytellers & landscapes are photographed by award-winning photographer Rob Buchanan & illustrated by Claire Sieber, using inks made from the forest. The project is coordinated by writer Laura Stovel & ethnobotanist Christy Shaw.” – Laura Stovel,
