The Kettle Valley Railway was an unusual line. It ran across the mountain chains instead of paralleling them as was the usually case with railways. Tough to build and tough to operate, the KVR played a vital role in developing the southern interior of British Columbia. It ensured that the resources and people there had a link to the Pacific coast and a route to the Canadian east.
Author Maurice Williams tells the story of the labourer's who built this incredible rail line, the true unsung heroes of the KVR.
